Morrison is a powerful American novelist who authored the famous books Beloved, The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon, and Sula. Her roots go back to Lorain, Ohio (February 18, 1931). She achieved a B.A. in English at Howard University and an M.A. in English at Cornell University. Her novels heavily reflected on the lives of black people. She was and is a passionate voice to the pathology of internalized racism and discrimination that goes on in black communities across America.

She has won many prizes for her books, including the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1993. She currently teaches at Princeton university and has held many residences. One of her famous works, Beloved, has been produced as a movie starring Oprah Winfrey and Danny Glover.
